{last minute} Graduation Bucket List

I cannot believe I am in my last semester of college at CU Boulder! Time has flown by. May 11, 2012 I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism: Advertising. What a journey it has been! I have been lucky enough to live in Boulder for the past 3 years, and I really want to make this last semester count, and so should all of you! No matter your age, location or status in life, remember that you always have time for some fun. I am making this “things to do list” while keeping Colorado in mind :)

“Sunfire” cocktail @ SALT Bistro

  1. Go to the FOX theater: I am embarrassed to say that I have never been to a show at the FOX theater which is located on The Hill. I have heard great things about it, and know that it is relatively cheap. They feature various artists that range from hip-hop to techno music. I am planning to go to FUN. in April - so excited! http://www.foxtheatre.com/
  2. Black Hawk: Gotta get a little risque and gamble once you are 21. Plus, free drinks!
  3. Trivia Night at the Lazy Dog: Definitely my favorite place to watch sports in Boulder. It’s Boulder’s perfect college sports bar with good food, beer and tons of TVs. Trivia Night is every Wednesday and starts at approximately 10 PM.
  4. Camping: Colorado is known for its great outdoors. The mountains and the skies are majestic. Once it starts to warm up, you have to go explore some of the camping ground, star gaze, make s’mores, and have some good, crazy quality time with your friends.
  5. Hike up Chautauqua: It’s a national historic landmark! Get a great work out for your body, mind and senses. http://www.chautauqua.com/
  6. Brewery Tours: Coors brewery tour is the best and close by in Golden. Others include: Avery Brewing Tour, Fat Tire, Boulder Beer, New Belgium
  7. Grizzly Rose: Go get your country line dancing on! http://www.grizzlyrose.com/
  8. SKI: We have the best ski resorts right here in Colorado. Take advantage by getting yourself a 5 mountain pass. Just do it, you’ll be happy you did.
  9. Boulder Creek: tubing, laying out, swinging, BBQing… this will have to wait until sweet, sweet summer time.
  10. FOOD & Happy Hour: Go to a new restaurant on Pearl street for happy hour. There are so many great places to eat on Pearl, with new restaurants opening up on a regular basis. Restaurants I’m dying to still try out are Pizzeria Locale, OAK, The Kitchen, Aji, Amu, Sushi Tora, John’s Restaurant, The Boulder Dushanbee Tea House, and Black Cat. Highly recommend SALT Bistro for its specialty cocktail menu!
  11. Bolder Boulder: Get yourself in shape and train to do a 5K, marathon, triathlon, etc. The Bolder Boulder is on May 28th. Register here: http://www.bolderboulder.com/
  12. Red Rocks: You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced this amazing/beautiful venue. BEST PLACE FOR MUSIC!!!!
  13. ROAD TRIP: I would love to go to Crested Butte, the Hot Springs, Garden of the Gods
  14. Celestial Seasonings Tour: Sample tons of yummy teas (hot and cold) and get a whiff of the Mint Room!
  15. Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art: For your daily dose of inspiration, check out what is going on in the art world. There are a handful of museums in Colorado that are either free or very cheap admissions! http://www.bmoca.org/

I’ll continue to add to the list and write about my last minute adventures! Have any recommendations or comments? Let me know!
